GROW IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF JESUS
When God created Adam, God knew the 2nd Adam which is Jesus Christ would be greater in glory than the first Adam. Although there was a fall of the 1st Adam, God has always planned the resurrected saints who abide daily in God’s grace, peace, love, and joy would be in greater measure than even what Adam (and Eve) had experienced in the garden.
Jesus is the light of this world and he that follows Him shall never walk in darkness, but always have the light of life (John 8:12; John 12:35; I John 1:6; I John 2:11). Therefore, as Christ’s disciples, followers, and believers, like Jesus the desires of our hearts are His Kingdom, to mourn with those who mourn, be humble pure in heart, and merciful, be a peacemaker, and rejoice when persecuted for our faith in Christ (Matthew 5:1-11) . While we seek God’s Kingdom first and above all else, we also continue to serve one another in the fear of God, for God will give every man according to his works (Revelation 20:13).
Yet, by God’s Spirit of grace and truth, we will do greater works than Jesus (John 14:12). And above all things, it will be those who take up our crosses daily to serve Him, preparing not only ourselves but others for the coming of the Lord who will be counted worthy to walk with Him in white. For God will use many of the saints to walk in the fullness of what Jesus has designed from the foundation of this world.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18)
ALWAYS BE ESTABLISHED IN THE PRESENT TRUTH
While the word of the Lord always brings new revelation from heaven, it is always God’s will that God’s people, ministers, and saints be established in the present truth. Like Mary who sat at the feet of Jesus to hear the word of God, this means coming to hear the word of God regularly, being nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine which you have now attained (1 Timothy 4:6).
However, equally as important to be hearers of the word, we must continue to do the truth which we hear. Jesus said, “to him that has more shall be given and he shall have in abundance (Matthew 13:12). Therefore, continue in these things until the Lord is revealed from heaven (2 Peter 1:12-13; Revelation 2:25; Revelation 3:3; Revelation 3:11).
